HOME OFFICE MAKEOVER PART 1

This is going to be a quick post of some of my progress on my office makeover.

This is the front room when you come in the front door and we have just never really used this space for anything other than the fish tank and a holding place for my furniture...as you can see, the fish tank is green again and I'm looking to get rid of the fish and put our little gecko in it. He's easy to take care of.
Sorry for the bad photos, my husband has the good camera right now.

I picked up a double bookshelf that I will be painting, and it will be taking the place of the fish tank.
My little side table was made over.
The mirror "before" yes it was only $14
  The planter "before" $11
AND....The "AFTER" the power of spray paint!!!

Picked up 94" drapes at Tuesday Morning for $9.99 a panel.
This is what the garage looks like while my husband is gone...
I turn into a thrift store furniture junky. I can't pass up a good price tag. $8 each for the chairs & $14 for a solid wood corner cabinet!!
Still on my list TO DO:

1. Paint Desk
2. Paint Bookshelf
3. Re-do my two chairs, paint & reupholster ...I'm a little afraid of that one
4. Paint the walls a gray color
5. Do something about the file cabinet

6. Find a rug for the room...so far everything I like is pricy!!! this might be a little bit of a challenge

Free Benjamin Moore Paint Sample

I picked up my FREE paint sample at Ace Hardware last week and tried it on a picture frame that I turned into our office dry/erase calendar.

If you go onto the Benjamin Moore Facebook page & "like" it you can print out a FREE COUPON HERE. The coupon expires June 30th.

I'm in the process of re-doing our home office and I have decided to go with Navy Blue, Gray, and White color pallet.

Picked up a new paint brush...because a girl can never have enough paint brushes:)

The brush is FABULOUS!!! It just might be better than my Purdy brush.

This is what the picture looked like "BEFORE"
I turned it into this.
YES...the calendar is from the barn days, but I will print up some stickers to go over all the horse stuff.
At least it's not sitting in my closet rolled up any more AND we were about to go buy a dry/erase board when I remembered I had this laying around, so we saved ourselves some $$.
Pulled it apart.
Checked to see if it was a fit....
Painted the frame with Old Navy by B.M.
Taped some foam board to the back to help with stabilizing it.

Put the back "frame" back in and it held it in place and it fit like a glove!

Now I'm about to redo the office space, looking for inexpensive shelves, desk, file cabinet, & storage boxes.

A Little Trip to Naples

Okay, I've been MIA for a few days and this is why......
I took my boys to Naples, where my mother was staying at the Naples Grande Resort for a building conference. So while she was in meetings all day, I went to the beach and pool!

And we sat pool side a lot....
I would just love to have a begonvilla arbor like this one.
Landon lived on the slide all day.
Tanner was on his surf board all day.
And I took a stack of House Beautiful and Better Homes & Garden magazines to read....but I did go down the slide a few times.

I loved the large planters with the ferns.
I think I might just have to find some of these green anthurium for the dinning room table.

Do any of you watch Jamie Durie on The Outdoor Room? I just LOVE him!!!   Not just for his good looks or his Australian accent....shhhh don't tell my husband I said that.
Well while driving home on I-75 I saw this.....

It totally made me think of Jamie, how he looks for architectural landscapes and buildings, then goes and builds an AMAZING back yard taking the inspiration from a larger concept like this this one. If I was trying to hide out some neighbors I would do something like this.
